Hamburg: A huge crowd was present when Ship of The Year was awarded to "Reach Remote 1" on SMMs first day.

It was Minister-Counselor Jonas Skei at the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin who had the honorable task of presenting the award to the winners.

On stage in Hamburg were Senior Project Manager Marthe Sand and Sales Manager Atle Gaasø from Kongsberg Maritime, who received the award on behalf of the designers. Eventually, they managed to coax Chief Designer Erik Leenders onto the stage as well to accept the award.

'It is a great honor, and we are very happy to receive this award,' Sand said to the audience gathered at the Norwegian pavilion to witness the ceremony.

Also present was CTO of Reach Subsea, Inge Grutle, who accepted the award on behalf of the shipping company Reach Subsea.

The shipyard that built the vessel, Trosvik Maritime, was represented by Sales Manager Geir Sæther, who has also been closely involved in the project since they were tasked with building 'Reach Remote 1' and its sister ship 'Reach Remote 2'."
